With Exodus, his second sound pack with AAS, Canadian sound designer Michel Basque draws inspiration from a terrestrial exodus towards other worlds, exoplanets, and parallel universes. Basque was inspired by artificial intelligence, robotization, climate change, and the role humanity plays in all of this. Exodus offers a palette of sounds, sometimes simple and sometimes complex, with particular attention paid to lower frequencies, emphasizing a cinematic aesthetic. Great care went into making sure that the macro controls could be used to inject new life and dynamics into each sound.

Exodus features sounds that combine organic, acoustic, and electronic sensibilities, creating atmospheres that are peaceful, ethereal, powerful, and somewhat unusual. Its sonic environments evoke harmony and serenity but also instability and unpredictability. Exodus invites you to journey into your creativity, where discovery leads to wonder in a universe of possibilities.

Who’s Michel Basque?

Michel Basque is a Canadian artist who has been a music composer and sound designer since the 1980s. He went from lead singer for an underground rock band to film and TV music composer and multimedia electronic music composer. In 2007, he joined Sonarte, a sample-based sound design company, with which he has been developing sound banks for Ableton Live as one of the lead sound designers. He has been collaborating with AAS since 2019.
