The CS-80V is the reproduction of the legendary Yamaha® CS-80, which was considered by many as the "ultimate polyphonic synthesizer", back in the late 70’s. It has been popularized by artists and groups like Toto, Jean-Michel Jarre, Keith Emerson, Stevie Wonder, Vangelis, Ultravox, Peter Gabriel… to name a few, and they all helped to turn this synthesizer into a real myth.
More than twenty five years after its release, the time has come to rediscover a sound that has extensively contributed to the history of music...

The CS-80V is the cornerstone of our live shows. We've been long time users of Arturia products especially the CS-80V, we use it onstage indeed. We are really impressed by this software by the way as we own a real CS-80 unit and find the similarities with the software pretty amazing.

Arturia has done a remarkable job of capturing the essence of the instrument. It's incredibly authentic. I hear no difference.

One of the most appealing things about the CS-80V was the unique sound and shape of its amplitude and tremolo modulation.

It has a smooth, detailed sound that you would expect from a real analog synthesizer; with filters that make other digital synths sound gritty by comparison. The CS-80V just sounds great!James Lumb

I just sold my Yamaha GX1 because I have a great remplacement with Arturia's CS-80V.

I reviewed the Arturia CS-80V with some skepticism - as a critical user of the best analog as well as digital processing gear (and permanent fan of the original CS-80 hardware), i am constantly enduring modest programming, often of emulations. Thus, I cannot overstate how thrilled i was, and how deeply gratified I continue to be, with the Arturia emulations. The CS-80V emulation really only fails in one area: the original CS-80 was in constant need of tuning, which was a profoundly tedious chore. I'll take the plug, thanks. same thing for the Mini-Moog. faithfully and flawlessly modeled. and stable!! couldn't live without them now.

It has loads of personality and is capable of amazing sounds which are impossible on my real CS-80.

I love the sound of that plug-in, and so does Stevie Wonder... I recommend it to anyone who wants great vintage sounds. (About the CS-80V)

Evolution of the species
The CS-80V takes the original design of the CS-80 to a whole new level; it captures the essence of the original, but also has a personality of its own. Besides faithfully reproducing the original structure that made a huge impact on the world of music thirty years ago, we have also included new features that will bring this massive synth into the limelight once again.
Multi-Mode
A Multi Mode has been added, allowing extensive new multitimbral possibilities and polyphonic modes. The brand new arpeggiator and stereo delay units further extend this virtual synth’s identity. Plus, getting new sounds out of the CS-80V has never been easier with the brand new Soundmap preset navigation tool; a totally innovative way to explore presets and morph between them.
Modulation Matrix
The modulation matrix lets you assign 12 sources to 38 destinations for 10 additional modulations, dramatically extending sound capabilities beyond its original boundaries. It comes loaded with more than 400 presets made by a selection of talented programmers.
