The Massive Poly Sound Machine

Polymode is inspired by the groundbreaking Moog Polymoog synthesizer. One of the world’s first polyphonic synthesizers, its unique multiple parallel filter implementation and mod routings give it a sound like no other synth. And though the original Polymoog sounded incredible, it could be challenging to operate and was prone to breakdowns. Cherry Audio’s Polymode sidesteps all of the drawbacks of the original instrument and massively expands its capabilities. With a streamlined user interface and immense modulation capabilities, Polymode sets a new standard for animated, sonically evolving string, pad, and choral tones.

What musicians are saying:

Speaking as someone who once owned a Polymoog 203a, I can say without hesitation that Cherry Audio’s Polymode is the most authentic recreation of that legendary synthesizer that I have ever used. It sounds and behaves like the hardware! The addition of chorus, phaser, echo, and reverb effects, as well as an additional modulation matrix turns Polymode into what the Polymoog should have been, while at the same time taking nothing away from the core sound of the instrument.

Cherry Audio has done it again with the Polymode. They’ve made another one of my dreams come true. The signature sound of Gary Numan’s “Cars,” not to mention the 80s Minneapolis sound, made ample use of the Polymoog’s unique sound. Cherry Audio’s Polymode captures that sound. The Polymode is now one of my go-to plugins for low string-like pads and textured drones. Dare I say, it’s like having the vintage hardware version with all the advantages of a modern software synth.

Cherry Audio has done it again! Polymode has so much fat, filthy character and such a unique sound.. I’m loving the presets and the mode filters, Instant vibe! There is just so much to offer here, the presets are all stellar and offer such a great and vintage array of possibilities!

Keyboardist and vocalist / Starship

The Polymoog 203a was a lush sonic part of my youth. John Foxx of Ultravox!, Gary Numan, Steve Nieve and Rick Wakeman used this synth of some of my favorite records, and I had to have one, but never did get one. Just as my hunt began for a healthy vintage unit began, The Polymode synchronistically appears, thanks to Cherry Audio, and I have to say, I am enjoying it very much. Extremely thorough design.
