Gypsy, RA, and Silk

Gypsy is your ticket to realistic, nuanced performances of all the major instruments found in a conventional ensemble of travelling performers. Great care was taken to iron out every performance to get the right blend of legato transitions, nimble finger work, and expression from every musician. If you’re a film, TV or game composer or simply enjoy adding eclectic instruments and styles to your compositions, the nylon guitar, violin and trombone can all play in both Gypsy and Classical styles, offering you creative flexibility. You also have multiple articulations, round robin playback and true legato to vary every passage and make each instrument sound as close to a live recording as possible.

RA features a massive collection of world instruments from Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Turkish Empire, India, the Fast East, the Americas and Australia. RA was created to preserve and recreate instruments from across the world in pristine detail, and offers you the opportunity to either exert control or allow each carefully-recorded phrase to play out naturally.

Silk features a large collection of world instruments from the lands of the Silk Road: China, India, and Persia. These bowed, plucked, and wind instruments were performed by master instrumentalists who have spent years perfecting their craft and were recorded using vintage Neumann microphones at legendary EastWest Studios. Using SILK's broad range of articulations, live-recorded legato and full phrases, you can quickly create an ensemble that sounds like it was recorded in a time and place far removed from our own.

QUANTUM LEAP GYPSY features a collection of extremely detailed Gypsy style virtual instruments capable of playing completely realistic performances. Gypsy is essential for film, tv and game composers.

The nylon string guitar, violin and trombone can play in both Gypsy and Classical styles. In the classical realm these three instruments are unparalleled in the sampling world in terms of playability, diversity and sound quality.

The new king of sampled violins has arrived. The violin and trombone feature many articulations, repetitions and even true legato intervals. All of the guitars were sampled with up and down strokes, many velocities and picking styles, release trails, chords and effects.

GYPSY's guitars sound incredible and were played by one of the best session guitarists in Los Angeles, David Kole.

The accordions feature many different setups, all with air flow in and out samples, as well as expressive samples, chords, and left hand bass.

GYPSY also has a very cool GYPSY percussion program and two flamenco dancers (foot stomps, as well as traditional castanets).

GYPSY also features an incredible bandoneon and cimbalom, two very rare instruments.

Recorded legato intervals for erhu, zhonghu, jinhu, electric cello, kemenche, duduk, 30 piece string section, dilruba, bansuri Master musicians recorded at East West Studios and Capitol Studios, using vintage Neumann microphones, Neve consoles and Meitner converters.

All instruments featured in SILK are multi-sampled with extreme attention to detail offering the maximum in expression. Quantum Leap SILK contains extensive articulations, interval sampling (where appropriate), round robin (alternate samples), legato scripting, and phrases to give the feeling of smooth effortless performance - like silk. Each musician recorded for SILK is a master of his instrument, providing the best and most accurate sound available. SILK also allows users to adapt the instruments using dozens of useful micro tunings in the key of their choice. This microtuning system is the first of it's kind, and is a true breakthrough for PLAY.
