NOS Audio Panther Linear Edition Active Ribbon Microphone

I picked a pair of these up recently looking for a cheaper alternative to the R-121/R-101, and I have to say that the NOS Panther performs admirably. It had the wonderful smooth mid range you would expect from a ribbon, but with plenty of gain due to the Panther's active electronics. Paired with a SM57, the Panther was equally as pleasing to work with for guitar recordings as a Royer would have been, and in fact maybe more so because in the back of my head I kept remembering that it was a fraction of the price! I wouldn't hesitate to add a pair of these to your mic locker!
